Rainmatter, an early-stage venture firm backed by Zerodha, has invested ₹10 crore each in Boson Whitewater, a water recycling startup, and TruNativ, a direct-to-consumer (D2C) nutrition brand.

Boson Whitewater, a water recycling startup, is focused on converting surplus sewerage treatment plant (STP) water into potable water. The company aims to address the growing water scarcity in cities like Bengaluru, where rapid urbanization has led to a pressing need for sustainable water solutions.

TruNativ, a direct-to-consumer (D2C) nutrition brand, offers a range of nutritional products such as Everyday Protein, Everyday Fibre, and Everyday Sweetener.

In an interview with The Economic Times, Dinesh Pai, head of Rainmatter, stated, “Between 2016 and now, we have invested around ₹650 crore into a wide range of startups across sectors. Out of Nithin Kamath’s total commitment of ₹1,000 crore announced last year, around ₹150 crore has been deployed so far.”

“We understand Indian startups need patient capital to build long-term businesses… We are not investing with an exit time frame in mind, we are patient capital available for startups wanting to build for India and the world with a long-term mindset,” added Pai.

Rainmatter, an early-stage venture firm, has a broad portfolio with investments in startups across fintech, clean energy, climate tech, and healthtech. The fund, based in Bengaluru, has backed around 100 companies, including 31 in fintech, 28 in climate tech, and 21 in health and nutrition.

Rainmatter has also recently invested over ₹30 crore in several startups within the last two months. Recent investments by Rainmatter include follow-up rounds in health start-up Devil’s Circuit, climate tech firm Green Worms, and fintech company Actologica.

Additionally, Rainmatter participated in the $6.5 million funding round for space tech startup GalaxEye, investing ₹5 crore across initial and follow-up rounds.

Rainmatter has also invested ₹58.25 crore (around $7 million) in agritech startup Two Brothers Organic Farms, continuing its focus on high-impact sectors.

Rainmatter has also invested in fintech startups such as smallcase, Ditto, and Digio, health and wellness companies like The Whole Truth and Peesafe, and climate tech ventures like Akshayakalpa, Solarsquare, Zerocircle, and Ossus.
