Qualcomm Technologies, a subsidiary of Qualcomm, has acquired Augentix, a provider of low-power image signal processors (ISP) and multimedia SoCs.
With this acquisition, Qualcomm Technologies will offer a broader, more configurable portfolio of smart camera solutions ranging from cost-optimized designs to high-performance, enabling solution providers to scale deployments efficiently while maintaining software consistency, unified control and cost efficiency.
Augentix will be integrated into Qualcomm’s hardware ecosystem, the Qualcomm Insight platform.
The integration of Augentix solutions into the Qualcomm Insight platform expands camera choice across deployment zones from low-power sensing devices for low-risk areas to high-performance analytics-first smart cameras for high-security environments, without fragmenting software stacks, development workflows, or analytics capabilities.
Founded in 2014, Augentix specializes in advanced SoC and multimedia signal processing for high-resolution, low-power video applications. Its portfolio powers solutions across professional enterprise surveillance, consumer video technology, and embedded intelligent camera systems.
As part of Qualcomm Technologies, Augentix solutions will become a core offering within the Qualcomm Insight platform enhancing availability, interoperability and support for Indian and global partners, system integrators, and solution providers building scalable smart surveillance and edge AI deployments.
