NDTV has announced the appointment of Koreel Lahiri as Chief of Strategy and Innovation. Koreel brings over 25 years of experience across Asia’s dynamic content and capital markets, combining strategic investment insight with a deep understanding of media transformation.
His career spans leadership roles in financial news at Bloomberg TV India and CNBC TV18, corporate strategy and investment at The Times Group, and regional investment leadership at MDIF, where he served as Investment Director – Asia.
Over the years, he has steered more than $250 million in investments, raised Asia-focused micro funds, and helped drive 2x revenue and 3x valuation growth across a portfolio of content-first and technology-enabled businesses. His sectoral expertise covers media, creator platforms, edtech, civic tech, and SaaS, with a particular focus on Gen Z and Alpha engagement.
Beyond capital allocation, Koreel has played a pivotal role in shaping growth through mergers and acquisitions, product-led innovation, and regional expansion. He has advised and mentored some of the most prominent digital-first enterprises, including InMobi (Glance) and YourStory, and actively contributes to global forums such as the Google News Startups Lab and Columbia University.
