Eeki, an agritech startup, has raised $7 million in funding from Sixth Sense Ventures, a consumer-focused fund.
The fresh funds raised will be used to expand its scalable, sustainable farming footprint and accelerate its next-generation technology rollouts. This infusion of capital will also help with its nationwide scale-up with aeroponic innovation to rapidly expand farm operations across India, strengthen R&D, and scale up the deployment of its advanced Gen 3 Growing Chambers.
Founded in 2018 by Abhay Singh and Amit Kumar, Eeki is working to build a scalable and sustainable food production system. The startup builds and operates IoT-powered, climate-controlled aeroponic chambers that enable the sustainable, large-scale production of pesticide-free vegetables at costs comparable to conventional farming.
In aeroponics, plant roots hang in the air and receive a nutrient-rich mist, reducing water use by up to 95% compared to traditional farming and enabling precise control over growing conditions.
Eeki collaborates with landowners to set up these chambers, turning even non-arable plots into productive farmland.
Abhay Singh, CEO & Co-Founder, Eeki, said, “This funding marks a pivotal moment in our journey toward scaling climate-resilient farming across India and abroad. Our aim is to build a future-ready food system that can thrive irrespective of environmental challenges. Nikhil and Kathan’s appreciation for in-house hardware & tech and long-term value creation makes them the ideal partners for us. The introduction of aeroponics in our Gen 3 chambers represents a paradigm shift in precision agriculture, allowing us to grow clean, nutritious vegetables consistently, independent of seasons and soil.”
Amit Kumar, Co-Founder, Eeki, said, “30% of our team is focused on improving core tech to maximise yield with minimal resources. This raise helps us perfect more crops across zones. With Sixth Sense’s consumer expertise, we aim to build Eeki’s positioning as a leader in nutrition and origin.”
Nikhil Vora, Founder and CEO of Sixth Sense Ventures, said, “Sustainable agriculture is critical to future food security. Eeki’s breakthrough model has proven itself in India’s toughest conditions, with superior cost efficiency and potential for global scalability. Backed by sharp execution and R&D, Abhay and Amit are building what could be the world’s most efficient farming company. We’re thrilled to partner with these brilliant scientists-turned-farmers on this journey.”
