Cautio, an AI-powered video telematics startup, has raised an additional $1.8 million in its seed funding round led by Amal Parikh with participation from 8i Ventures, AU Small Finance Bank, Vibha Chetan (Partner – Cheravi Ventures) and Venture Catalysts.
The round also saw backing from Raveen Sastry (Founding Partner, Multiply Ventures), Vivekananda Hallekere (Co-Founder, Bounce) and Nishchay AG (Co-Founder, JAR).
The fresh funding expands Cautio’s total seed raise to $3 million. In April this year, the company raised $1.2 million as part of its ongoing seed round. The company has cumulatively raised over $3.6 million to date.
The fresh funds raised will be used to expand its research and development, enhance its AI capabilities, and scale its presence across India’s fleet operators, intercity and intracity bus operators, and school transport networks. The company also plans to strengthen its on-ground installation and servicing capabilities to ensure seamless adoption for fleets.
Founded in 2023 by Ankit Acharya and Pranjal, Cautio provides AI-powered advanced dash-cam and an operating system as a solution for fleet operators and owners in India to detect and prevent risks in real-time.
Ankit Acharya, Co-Founder & CEO of Cautio, said, “India’s roads don’t need more fear; they need accountability and protection. At Cautio, we’re building technology that makes safety visible and actionable. Every alert we send out is a chance to prevent an accident, to protect a family, to save a life. That’s why we’re here.”
Pranjal, Co-Founder & CTO of Cautio, said, “This fresh investment allows us to strengthen our technology, grow our team, and expand our deployment footprint to ensure road safety becomes the norm, not the exception.”
Amal Parikh said, “What impressed me about Cautio is simple: founders who understand the problem deeply, and a team building with both heart and hustle. Ankit, Pranjal and team are going after one of India’s most urgent yet ignored challenges — road safety. Combining AI with infrastructure, they’re taking a practical yet innovative approach. This is where Dalal Street’s discipline meets Innovation Street’s disruption. Excited to partner with them in their mission to make Indian roads safer.”
