UNIQLO, the global apparel retailer, announced Academy Award, BAFTA, and Golden Globe-winning actor Cate Blanchett as its newest Global Brand Ambassador.

Blanchett will work alongside UNIQLO to advance the brand’s LifeWear philosophy.

Ms. Blanchett is one of the world’s most acclaimed actors and producers, celebrated for roles in Tár, Carol, The Aviator, Blue Jasmine, and Elizabeth, amongst many others, as well as her award-winning work on Broadway, the West End, and leading theatres worldwide. She also shapes her industry, creating opportunities behind the scenes, having served as co-Artistic Director and co-CEO of Sydney Theatre Company and as co-founder of production company Dirty Films. The fashion world considers her a style icon, and she is a fixture on international best-dressed lists.

UNIQLO enters the new partnership inspired by Blanchett’s global accomplishments and credibility, certain that she makes an ideal UNIQLO Global Brand Ambassador. Beyond her work on stage and screen, Ms. Blanchett champions displaced people through her work as a Global Goodwill Ambassador for the UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency. She is a member of the Earthshot Prize Council, inaugural Ambassador for Wakehurst’s Millennium Seed Bank, board member of the UK’s National Theatre, and Patron of both the Sydney Film Festival and NIDA Foundation. She supports numerous conservation and industry bodies, including the Australian Conservation Foundation, the Actors Benevolent Fund, the SAG-AFTRA Foundation, and the Australian Wildlife Conservancy.
