Sistema.bio, a biogas technology, financing, and services for family farmers, has raised an undisclosed amount in strategic funding from Next Bharat Ventures (NBV), the Impact Fund created by Suzuki Motor Corporation in India.
The fresh funds raised will be used to expand across India, support the launch of new agricultural and energy solutions, and strengthen the company’s overall growth trajectory. The investment will also boost its manufacturing capacity, accelerate R&D, and drive the development of new product lines. This includes advanced materials, IoT-enabled solutions, and digital MRV technologies to improve current offerings and maintain leadership in biogas innovation.
Founded in 2010, Sistema.bio’s innovative biogas technology transforms animal waste into clean biogas for cooking, heating, and electricity generation, while also producing nutrient-rich biofertilizer that boosts agricultural productivity.
Sistema.bio is an impact enterprise enabling farmers to convert waste into renewable energy and organic fertilizer through innovative biodigester technology, financing, and training.
Operating globally in 35 countries across Asia, Africa, and LATAM, the company enables farmers to increase productivity, lower carbon footprints, and build regenerative agricultural systems. Its programs integrate IoT-enabled MRV to deliver measurable carbon reduction and climate adaptation.
Previously, Sistema.bio secured a package of $15 million in the funding round led by ElectriFI, managed by the EDFI Management Company.
Alexander Eaton, CEO & Co-founder of Sistema.bio, said, “We are thrilled to welcome Next Bharat to our strategic partners and investor group.
