ShopDeck, a Bengaluru-based software solution provider for direct-to-consumer (D2C) brands, has raised $8 million in its Series B funding round led by Bessemer Venture Partners. The round also saw participation from Elevation Capital, Chiratae Ventures, and Venture Highway (acquired by General Catalyst).
The funds raised will be used to accelerate its hiring and further enhance its product offerings. The funds will be also used to enhance its AI-powered tech stack to drive deeper insights and automation. This includes expanding on-ground operations to support sellers across Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities and developing go-to-market strategies.
“We will invest heavily in software, leverage our team and growth consultants, and build software that can help merchants optimize their storefront automatically. Our second goal is to expand the top of the funnel and onboard more D2C brands as our software has reached a steady state. We help merchants not only set up their storefronts but also optimize them and sell D2C profitably,” said Rishabh Verma, Co-founder, ShopDeck.
“90% of the merchants we work with are selling their products for the first time. We’ll expand into beauty, which is a big segment for D2C, and maybe even foods. Our aim is to help every merchant, from Tier-3 cities to metros, scale sustainably. Many have crossed Rs 10 crore in revenue in less than two years of launching with us,” Verma added.
Speaking on the investment, Anant Vidur Puri, Partner at Bessemer Venture Partners, said, “India’s e-commerce is booming, but small merchants remain underserved. ShopDeck’s innovative profitability-first approach, combining AI-driven tools and service support, positions it uniquely in the market. Their ability to help merchants build their businesses profitably sets them apart in the e-commerce ecosystem.”
Binni’s Wardrobe Founder Shraddha Tripathi said, “Managing the technical complexities of website management and hosting often distracts brands from focusing on scaling their business. Shopdeck’s platform seamlessly integrates with our processes, automating tasks, reducing errors, and driving noticeable improvements in efficiency, productivity, and revenue. We are now scaling rapidly with over INR 15 Cr in annual sales.”
Founded in 2022 by Rishabh Verma and Harmin Shah, ShopDeck (previously known as NuShop) offers a range of services to D2C brands, including website development and customization, catalogue management, and marketing and pricing strategy support.
The startup primarily works with brands in the long tail categories such as fashion, apparel, jewellery, home & kitchen, and merchandise.
ShopDeck’s parent company, Blitzscale Technology, initially launched WMall in 2018 as a value-first marketplace. However, the format faced challenges and was shut down by February 2022. Recognizing the growing demand for D2C enablement, Blitzscale pivoted to launch ShopDeck in July 2022, with a renewed focus on helping D2C sellers achieve profitability.
