Shobhit Gaur and Shailesh Patel have launched Dam Good Fish (DGF) a sustainability-led brand in fresh dam-sourced fish targeted at urban consumers in India.
Dam Good Fish offers hygienic, traceable, and sustainably farmed freshwater fish in an otherwise unorganized category. DGF also offers a wide range of responsibly sourced options.
By combining the best of wild-caught seafood practices and contemporary aquaculture methods, Dam Good Fish offers a range of ready-to-cook, marinated and fresh-cut products, designed for Indian palettes and fast-paced urban consumers, delivering maximized flavor and results with minimal fuss.
With headquarters in Delhi NCR, the new DGF aims for rapid product development, distribution, and expansion to metro and Tier-I cities in India.
With a pan-India retail launch on the horizon – across e-commerce platforms, premium grocery retail chains, and chef-led collaborations, the brand aims to provide consistent quality and complete transparency across its supply chain.
Shobhit Gaur, Co-Founder of DGF, said, “There’s a significant gap in how seafood is perceived and consumed in India’s northern and urban markets. Dam Good Fish is our answer to this gap—bringing premium, naturally grown fish, free from harmful chemicals, to health-conscious consumers who refuse to compromise on quality or ethics.”
Shailesh Patel, Co-Founder, said, “We believe in delivering healthy protein that’s responsibly sourced. Our supply chain is built around certified dam-sourced and inland aquaculture systems—ensuring transparency, sustainability, and taste in every bite.”
