The Mahindra Group announced several senior leadership transitions across its core businesses. Hemant Sikka has been appointed as the Managing Director & CEO of Mahindra Logistics (MLL). Sikka will take over from Ram Swaminathan, who is stepping down to pursue other opportunities.
Currently serving as President of the Farm Equipment Sector (FES), Hemant brings to the role a proven combination of strategic acumen, operational discipline, customer-centric thinking, and strong people leadership.
Veejay Nakra, currently President of the Automotive Division, will transition to become President of the Farm Equipment Business (FEB) — one of Mahindra’s largest and most profitable segments, boasting a Return on Capital Employed (ROCE) of over 60%. With strong growth prospects in tractors, farm machinery, and international markets, Veejay is well positioned to lead FEB. Since joining Mahindra in 1995, he has played a pivotal role in the turnaround of the Auto Business, spearheading successful product launches and building world-class manufacturing capabilities. Veejay will continue to report to Rajesh Jejurikar.
R Velusamy, currently President of Automotive Technology and Product Development, has been named President of the Automotive Business (AB). In line with Mahindra’s strategy to harness innovation and technology, this role will now integrate the SUV and LCV (under 3.5 tonnes) segments under a unified leadership structure. This move is intended to foster greater agility, cross-functional collaboration, and more cohesive go-to-market strategies. Velu, who joined Mahindra in 1996, has been instrumental in developing cutting-edge powertrains and leading the successful launches of several ICE and EV flagship products. He will also continue reporting to Rajesh Jejurikar.
Anish Shah, Group CEO & Managing Director, M&M, said, “These leadership changes ensure that we have strong, proven leaders at the helm of our key businesses. Their experience will enable us to drive significant growth and create greater value for our customers and shareholders. We thank Ram for his contributions and wish Hemant, Veejay, and Velu the very best for the journey ahead.”
