Luma Fertility, a tech-enabled fertility startup, has raised $4 million in seed funding round led by Peak XV’s Surge, with participation from Ameera Shah (Metropolis Healthcare) and Vijay Taparia (B2V Ventures).
The funds raised will be used to expand its footprint in Mumbai and subsequently in other cities over the next two years.
Founded in 2024 by Neha K Motwani, Luma Fertility offers services including IVF, egg and embryo freezing, fertility assessments, and pre-conception consultations. Luma also provides at-home semen analysis, personalised reports, and holistic services that improve outcomes such as nutrition, acupuncture, IV drips, and one-on-one sessions to support both physical and emotional well-being.
Luma Fertility’s 6,000-square-foot flagship clinic is located in Bandra, Mumbai, and features an in-house lab that performs all fertility procedures.
Luma has also launched an integrated app, allowing patients to track their treatment, access reports, and stay informed. Its AI-enabled tool, LumaAI, offers 24/7, jargon-free support on everything from cycle timelines to medication guidance.
Ameera Shah, Promoter & Executive Chairperson, Metropolis Healthcare, said, “Fertility care in India is at an inflection point. Demand is growing rapidly, but the system is deeply fragmented and outdated. Patients are forced to navigate a maze of clinics, labs, and specialists with little coordination or support. What drew me to Luma is their full-stack customer-first approach. Neha and her team are reimagining fertility with a clear vision to transform how care is delivered.”
Vijay Taparia, Chairman – B2V ventures, said, “Having backed Neha in her earlier venture, I’ve seen firsthand her ability to build with conviction and scale with integrity. Luma’s vision comes from her personal journey, and that is what makes it more meaningful. Moreover, there is a clear need for consumer-first healthcare in India, especially in single-speciality verticals like fertility. Luma’s patient-first and outcome-driven approach is much needed and paves a better way to deliver fertility care in India.”
