Lissun, a mental health platform, has acquired Being Cares, a US-based mental wellbeing startup.
Being Cares provides AI-powered tools to map and address over 40 emotional and behavioral conditions. The platform uses data on real-world causes and effects to give personalized mental health guidance and has served nearly one million users globally.
This strategic integration aims to merge authentic intelligence, LISSUN’s core strength in therapist-led interventions, with artificial intelligence through Being’s intelligent mental health mapping model. Already capable of decoding more than 40 conditions, including anxiety, depression, burnout, and parenting stress, Being’s intelligent mental health mapping model processes over 2,500 causes and real-world effects, offering hyper-personalized guidance.
LISSUN is now extending this map to child-centric concerns such as autism, ADHD, speech delays, learning challenges and many more. This ensures that the same AI that supports a parent’s emotional challenges can also help decode a child’s developmental or behavioural struggles, allowing one intelligent system to grow with families through every stage.
As part of this acquisition, Lissun has welcomed the entire Being team into its fold and acquired the intellectual property rights of its technology, bringing both expertise and innovation under one roof.
Both founders of Being Cares have joined LISSUN’s leadership team, with Varun Gandhi, Co-founder and CEO of Being, taking on the role of Chief Product Officer, and Abhishek Sharma, Co-founder and CTO of Being, joining as Chief Technology Officer.
Tarun Gupta, Co-Founder, LISSUN, said, “This is not just an acquisition. It marks the beginning of a complete reimagining of how mental healthcare can support entire families. At LISSUN, we have demonstrated our ability to provide effective, high-quality developmental care for children through our Sunshine by Lissun centers. With Being’s AI and our clinical expertise, we are building a system that addresses families’ concerns from the very first signs, offers digital guidance, and seamlessly transitions into in-person care when needed. We are designing an end-to-end support journey where technology, empathy, and clinical excellence work together to serve every child and their family with compassion and precision.”
Varun Gandhi, Co-founder and CEO of Being Cares, said, “Joining LISSUN felt like coming home. Our north star was always building an empathetic, intelligent mental health assistant that families could trust. With LISSUN, we now have the infrastructure, the therapists, and the shared values to bring this dream to life. With LISSUN by our side, we are building a future where technology does not replace human care; it amplifies it, ensuring no parent or child is left guessing about their mental well-being.”
Founded in 2021 by Krishna Veer Singh and Tarun Gupta, Lissun collaborates with healthcare, corporate, and educational institutions, delivering integrated solutions to address high-stress challenges like chronic illnesses, exam anxiety, and workplace pressure.
In October 2024, Lissun raised $2.5 million in a pre-Series A funding round led by RPSG Capital Ventures with participation from Multiply Ventures, Atrium Angels, Ivycap Ventures, Rainmatter, and Sucseed Ventures.
LISSUN plans to expand its Sunshine centres from 20 to over 200 in the next two to four years, with Ray, LISSUN’s AI assistant, set to engage millions of parents through platforms such as WhatsApp.
Strengthening its presence across home, school, and clinical settings, LISSUN aims to ensure families receive continuous, accessible support throughout their mental health journey. The combination of Sunshine’s intensive interventions with Being’s scalable technology makes it possible to offer the full spectrum of care from the first concern to long-term developmental support.
