JW Marriott Kolkata announced the appointment of Mainak Ray as the new Director of Sales and Marketing. With over a decade of experience in luxury hospitality sales across multiple cities in India, Mainak brings a wealth of expertise and a proven track record of success to his new role.
As Director of Sales and Marketing, Mainak will oversee the hotel’s sales, marketing, and revenue operations, focusing on strategic growth, brand positioning, and guest engagement. His key responsibilities include implementing innovative sales and marketing strategies, optimizing room and event revenue, and curating unique F&B initiatives.
An alumnus of the University of Calcutta, with a Master’s in International Management from the University of Sussex, UK, Mainak began his career with Lebara Mobile UK before making a mark in the hospitality industry.
His professional journey includes key roles with Hyatt, Accor, Oberoi Hotels & Resorts, and Marriott International, where he has been instrumental in driving sales, revenue growth, and brand visibility.
