JSW Ventures, an arm of diversified conglomerate JSW Group, has invested $1.8 million in Aereo, an aerial intelligence platform. The investment comes as part of its Series B funding round.
Earlier this year in July, the Bengaluru-based drone start-up raised $15 million Series B funding round led by 360 One Asset with participation from StartupXseed Ventures and Navam Capital.
The fresh funds will be used to strengthen its position in providing innovative commercial drone solutions and accelerate its growth into international markets.
The global drone industry is projected to grow at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 20 per cent, reaching USD 51.4 billion by 2027. Aereo aims to capitalise on this growing opportunity by focusing on the enterprise segment. The company is strategically scaling its operations to expand into key international markets, including Australia, Brazil, and Africa.

Founded in 2013 by Vipul Singh and Suhas Banshiwala, Aereo leverages advanced drone technology and AI-driven data analytics to enhance asset management in sectors such as mining, infrastructure, urban and rural development, and land records. The company’s comprehensive offerings include inventory assessments, quality inspections, and land record digitisation.
Aereo claims to have executed large-scale government projects, mapping over 45,000 villages under the Svamitva scheme and covering more than 50,000 square kilometres for the Digital India Land Record Modernisation Program (DILRMP).
The company has filed 15 patents covering advancements in drone hardware, design, and predictive flight planning technologies.
