Ahead of the upcoming edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2026), Nitish Rana has been traded from Rajasthan Royals to Delhi Capitals, and Donovan Ferreira rejoins the Rajasthan Royals.
As per the transfer agreement, Donovan Ferreira’s fee has been revised from ₹75 lakh to ₹1 crore. Nitish Rana will continue at his existing fee of ₹4.2 crore.
Following the acquisitions of Ravindra Jadeja and Sam Curran, Donovan’s return adds more power, flexibility and finishing strength to the Royals’ batting options.
The South African was part of the Rajasthan Royals setup for IPL 2024.
The right-handed wicketkeeper-batter has an overall T20 strike rate of more than 160 and can also bowl handy off-breaks.
Kumar Sangakkara, Director of Cricket, Rajasthan Royals, said, “Donovan brings a mix of power-hitting and game awareness. He understands our environment, and he fits the brand of cricket we want to play. We’re delighted to have him back. At the same time, we thank Nitish for his contributions and wish him the very best.”
Donovan Ferreira said, “It feels great to return to a familiar environment. I’ve had a good chat with Kumar and I’m looking forward to playing my role for the Royals.”
