IIT Madras-incubated startup Plenome Technologies has raised ₹6.5 crore in a seed funding round from Indian and Foreign Investors, including Ovington Capital Partners, a Luxembourg-based investment firm and angel investor Manish Gandhi.
The proceeds will be used to support Plenome’s expansion into global markets with its patented Blockchain-AI stack tailored for sectors like healthcare, organ donation, and remote voting.
Founded in 2023 by Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar Prabhu Rajagopal, Vijayaraja Rathinasamy and Anirudh Varna, Plenome provides Blockchain as a service (BaaS), Software as a service (SaaS), Telemedicine services, Hardware for Edge Computing, and Internet of Things (IoT) & Remote Environment Management (REM) products.
Plenome develops digital applications and technologies to enable data transfers in sensitive industries such as healthcare and voting.
Plenome is also developing distributed artificial intelligence (AI) protocol, building upon their DLT backbone for data logging, yielding a benchmarkable and ‘ground-truthed’ AI tool which is essential in critical applications such as healthcare and e-governance.
Prabhu Rajagopal, Founder Chairman, Plenome Technologies, and Faculty, Department of Mechanical Engineering, IIT Madras, said, “Our work improves access to healthcare in remote locations while enabling interoperability and insight generation based on structured medical records. Our work on remote elections is very exciting, offering the possibility of voting through mobile devices from any location. We are grateful to Ovington, Ram and Manish for backing this vision. We hope to grow organically with impact in the coming years.”
Vijayaraja Rathinasamy, Co-founder of Plenome, said, “At Plenome, we are driven by the conviction that technology should be purposeful and inclusive, reaching those at the margins and delivering outcomes that are tangible, equitable, and sustainable.”
Anirudh Varna, Co-founder of Plenome, said, “By decentralizing critical systems from healthcare diagnostics to secure voting, we are putting power directly into people’s hands. We are looking forward to scale our Ashwin and BlockVote platforms globally.”
Marco Palacino of Ovington Capital Partners, said, “At Ovington, our cross-border strategy is designed to help India-based startups like Plenome access global markets and scale internationally. The partnership brings strategic alignment, market access, and capital support to accelerate Plenome’s mission.
