International Asset Reconstruction Company (IARC), a debt resolution platform, has announced the appointment of Abhishek Maheshwari as its new Managing Director & Chief Executive Officer.
Abhishek Maheshwari brings with him over two decades of deep expertise in distressed debt management, debt collections, and recovery practices across global markets. His leadership experience spans across India, the US, the UK, Europe, and the Asia-Pacific region, working with top financial institutions to deliver impactful outcomes in credit and collections management.
Prior to joining IARC, Abhishek was a Partner with the Boston Consulting Group (BCG), where he was instrumental in establishing a robust debt collections and recovery practice for the Asia-Pacific region. He worked closely with leading global financial institutions to drive their collections transformation agendas through advanced analytics, technology adoption, and innovative operating models, delivering significant improvements in credit cost, collections efficiency, and customer experience.
Abhishek also co-founded and served as the Chief Operating Officer of Encore Asset Reconstruction Company (Encore ARC), one of the first retail-focused ARCs in India. At Encore ARC, he spearheaded the development of industry-leading distressed retail debt pricing models and set up a differentiated omni-channel collections framework, laying a strong foundation for the business. In addition, he held senior leadership roles at Encore Capital Group, the parent company of Encore ARC, where he contributed across strategy, analytics, decision sciences, and operations. His responsibilities spanned diverse retail financial products, including credit cards, retail loans, and SME loans.
Founded in 2002 following the passage of India’s SARFAESI Act, today IARC is well-established among India’s leading asset reconstruction companies and maintains offices in New Delhi, Mumbai, and Chennai.
