Equirus Group, a diversified financial services conglomerate, has announced the appointment of Sandeep Walunj as Chief Growth Officer (CGO).
In his new role, Walunj will be responsible for guiding the Group’s growth initiatives, strengthening the corporate identity and improving coordination across group companies.
An alumnus of IIM Ahmedabad, Sandeep brings three decades of experience in building and transforming businesses across India and the Middle East & North Africa. Over the years, he has worked across brand building, product and process innovation, market expansion, digital sales and marketing, strategic consumer segmentation, as well as data science and GenAI-led growth initiatives.
As a member of the Financial Literacy Committee of the Association of Mutual Funds in India, he spearheaded the celebrated Mutual Funds Sahi Hai campaign that has helped reposition equity investing and is driving the historical growth in both the mutual fund and broking industries.
Walunj joins Equirus from Motilal Oswal Financial Services, where he served as Executive Director and Group Chief Marketing Officer. He had joined Motilal Oswal Financial Services in April 2024, following a stint at Nippon India Mutual Fund.
Alongside his executive roles, he has remained closely involved with the broader marketing and financial services ecosystem, serving on the Asia-Pacific Advisory Board of the CMO Council (USA) and as a member of the BFSI Committee of the Indian Chamber of Commerce (West Region).
