Educate Girls, a nonprofit organisation, has announced the appointment of Gayatri Nair Lobo as its new Chief Executive Officer (CEO).
With nearly 25 years of experience across consulting and the development sector, Gayatri is known for her systems approach and ability to drive change from the grassroots to the policy level.
Gayatri brings a powerful blend of strategic foresight and operational depth. She has led large-scale, high-impact initiatives – from rejuvenating 5,000 waterbodies across India to shaping national-level discourse on sustainable farming and education reform.
Her past roles as CEO of both the A.T.E. Chandra Foundation and India School Leadership Institute (ISLI), alongside senior leadership positions at Teach For India and Dalberg Advisors, have shaped her into one of the sector’s most trusted leaders in equity and institutional change.
Safeena Husain, Founder, Educate Girls, said, “I have long admired Gayatri’s strategic mind and her ability to connect local needs with big-picture solutions: she is an ecosystem builder who bridges grassroots realities with systemic change. She is ready to lead Educate Girls into the next decade of impact, ensuring that every girl gets the chance to gain an education and the agency to shape her own life.”
“This is a chance to build on the incredible work Educate Girls has achieved over the years. Our next chapter is about making a serious dent in girls’ education by building ecosystems, leveraging Government resources, and scaling community-led solutions to redefine what is possible for girls and women in rural India,” said Gayatri, CEO, Educate Girls.
