DesignX, a shop floor hyper-automation company, has raised $1 million in its pre-Series A funding round led by the Piper Serica Angel Fund. In 2021, the company raised $300,000 in equity from Modular Capital, Accel, and a few manufacturing industry veterans.
With the fresh funding, DesignX plans to expand its Df-OS in key markets like Japan, and Europe. This capital will help factories achieve lighthouse status, focusing on AI-driven analytics and sustainability.
Commenting on the new funding round, Rajat Srivastava, Co-founder of DesignX, said, “We started with an idea that has now taken shape as a powerful product that will redefine global manufacturing. This funding will help ensure the world knows about our innovative solutions.”
Nishant Srivastava, CTO and Co-Founder, added, “Our commitment to advancing manufacturing technology will be further strengthened with this investment, enhancing the performance and adoption of our Df-OS application.”
Ajay Modi, Investment Director at Piper Serica, said, “India is at the cusp of a manufacturing revolution. DesignX’s Df-OS offers a flexible, cost-efficient solution that understands manufacturing processes better than ever. We are excited about the potential of this tool and the strong demand we foresee in the manufacturing ecosystem.”
Founded in 2015 by Rajat Srivastava and Nishant Srivastava, DesignX specializes in hyper-automation for manufacturing shop floors. The company’s flagship product, the Df-OS platform, empowers factories to increase productivity and sustainability with real-time data analytics. Key sectors such as automotive, FMCG, and consumer electronics benefit from the platform by reducing waste and lowering carbon footprints.
DesignX aims to transform manufacturing with minimal infrastructure investment, akin to the impacts of unified payment interface (UPI) and 4G technologies.
With a decade-long focus on Industry 4.0, DesignX has partnered with major industry leaders such as Unilever, Hero MotoCorp, and Dabur.
With the factory process application market valued at $34 billion annually, DesignX plans to capture up to 50% of this market in the next 7 to 10 years.
In the past three years, DesignX claims to have digitised over 10,000 processes across 500 factories, connecting more than 1,400 machines in real-time and serving over 405 customers. Looking ahead, the company plans to double its customer base, expand into new regions, and achieve substantial annual reductions in CO2 emissions through optimized manufacturing processes.
