Courtyard by Marriott Ranchi announced the appointment of James Muntode as its new Hotel Manager. With over 18 years of extensive experience in the hospitality industry, James brings a distinguished record of operational excellence, guest satisfaction, and team leadership across India and abroad.
James joins Courtyard by Marriott Ranchi from Courtyard by Marriott Shillong, where he served as Operations Manager. In this role, he was instrumental in enhancing service standards across departments and played a pivotal role in shaping the guest experience.
Throughout his tenure with Marriott International, James has worked with several leading brands, including Le Meridien, The Westin, Sheraton Grand and Courtyard by Marriott.
His experience includes contributing to the successful opening of new properties, where he built teams from the ground up and implemented operational frameworks aligned with Marriott’s highest standards of hospitality.
He also played a key role in the transition phase of Le Méridien to Sheraton Grand, ensuring a seamless brand transformation while maintaining service excellence and team alignment.
James holds an academic background in hospitality from Ealing and Hammersmith College of West London and began his international career at The Tower Hotel, London, gaining valuable experience in global hospitality operations.
He is also a graduate of Marriott’s esteemed Excom Track Program and was honored with the 2014 Regional Starwood Preferred Guest Recognition Award – South Asia.
