ClickUp, the platform that converges all software, humans, and agents, has acquired Codegen, a platform for AI-powered code generation and agentic AI.
Founded in 2023 by Jay Hack, Codegen is an agentic AI platform designed to function as an “AI coworker” that integrates with GitHub, Slack, and Linear. It autonomously plans, implements, and creates pull requests for software tasks using natural language prompts.
This move brings Codegen’s pioneering technology and team into ClickUp to accelerate ClickUp’s latest AI development: Super Agents that build, think, and collaborate like human coworkers. Strengthened by Codegen’s proprietary agentic AI technology, Super Agents can autonomously complete projects, generate software, and take action with 500+ work skills.
As part of the acquisition, Jay Hack, Codegen founder and CEO, will take over as Head of AI at ClickUp.
