The round saw participation from Rohan Bhargava (Co-founder, CashKaro), Saurabh Gupta (CEO & Co-Founder, UrbanPiper), Shashank Bijapur (Founder, SpotDraft), Rajneil Kamath (Former Google, NC Media), Harikrishnan M (DMart), Sridhar V (Microsoft), and Rajat Bhargava (Think Wealth).
The fresh capital will be used to fuel its expansion in Indian and global markets.
“We are excited about the trust and confidence our investors have shown in us. This funding will help us scale operations and bring sustainable solutions to more businesses in India and globally,” said Anirudh Balakrishnan (Bala), Co-founder of Bumboo.
“Bumboo’s unique approach to transforming agricultural waste into packaging solutions aligns perfectly with the urgent need for sustainable practices in today’s world. We are thrilled to support them on this journey,” said Rohan Bhargava, Co-founder of CashKaro.
Founded in 2019 by Anirudh Balakrishnan, Rohit Keshan, and Praveen Kumar, Bumboo turns agricultural waste such as sugarcane bagasse and wheat straw into sustainable packaging solutions. This innovation addresses critical environmental challenges, including air pollution caused by crop burning in regions like Delhi, where its impact on air quality is severe.
The company claims to be currently serving over 3,500 businesses including Zomato, Swiggy, ITC, Blue Tokai, Curefoods, Chaayos, and Barbeque Nation.
The firm said it has prevented nearly 3,000 tons of CO2 emissions through innovative agro-waste solutions. It is targeting ₹100 Crore revenue milestone within the next four years.
