Energy Efficiency Services (EESL), a joint venture of Public Sector Undertaking (PSUs) under the Ministry of Power, Government of India, announced the appointment of Akhilesh Kumar Dixit as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) with effect from June 16, 2025.
Akhilesh Kumar Dixit joins EESL from Power Grid Corporation of India (PGCIL), where he served with distinction in multiple senior roles across core business functions.
A seasoned professional with over three decades of extensive experience, Shri Dixit brings to EESL a deep understanding of the power sector and a proven track record of successfully delivering complex projects. He is a graduate in Electrical Engineering from Madan Mohan Technical University, Gorakhpur and holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Business Management (PGDBM) from the prestigious Management Development Institute (MDI), Gurgaon.
Over the span of his 32-year career, Shri Dixit has held diverse leadership roles across various domains including substation and transmission line operations, business development, corporate social responsibility (CSR), human resources, and procurement. His international exposure and experience with multidisciplinary teams have enabled him to execute several high-impact projects across geographies.
As the new CEO, Shri Dixit now shoulders the responsibility of transforming EESL into a next-generation energy solutions provider, driving innovation, accelerating adoption of sustainable technologies, and strengthening India’s energy efficiency mission.

A joint venture of NTPC, Power Finance Corporation, Rural Electrification Corporation and POWERGRID, Energy Efficiency Services EESL) was set up under the Ministry of Power, Government of India (GoI) to facilitate implementation of energy efficiency projects.
